5 Tips to Using Your Important Values to Hire

Here are 5 tips for your hiring of an employee using your values. Values such as trust, honesty, empathy and so many more. Here are some values that are important when you do or don't hire an employee for your company.

1: Honesty:

Is this person really being honest with you? Are they just saying messages that will impress you? What are their real intentions? Do they just want a job for their financial gain or do they want to better your company?

You know in your feelings whether they really want to pursue the employment for the right reasons. What are they to you? Write them down and ponder on these ideas for a moment.

2: Trust:

Do you really trust this person in what they are saying in your interview What are they wanting? What are you wanting? Are they the same things. Is the applicant asking you questions about your company?

Do you really trust this person?  Will you be able to trust them as an employee in your company? Trust is a value that is so important to your values. If you do not trust somebody they may do harm to your colleagues or career.

3: Integrity:

This is a value that is so important with your decision. Do they have integrity to help your company soar, to make goals really happen. It is important they are persistent in reaching the goals of your company, able to be in congruence the values.

It is your job to rate all these values for their hiring or not. If you feel they are not a good prospect then you will be honest with them. Maybe they will change in the future and come back to be hired. Just maybe your honesty will help them to grow in integrity.

On the other hand let's see if they may get angry of not being hired. This is a sure way to trust their integrity. You can always change your mind if they take your decision as a growth effort. You must gauge this value very specifically when hiring.

4: Humor:

Is this applicant fun? Do they show a degree of humor or are they very serious. We all enjoy some humor in our employment. It is an act of respect for fun yet serious too. This is an important value to gauge. Is this interview fun for you?

A personality has all types of values and this one of humor is valuable for your customers and colleagues. No humor is a dangerous liability. Some humor is an asset. Too much humor is a liability too.

5: Empathy:

Is this future employee empathetic. Does he really listen and understand you? Or does this future employee interrupt you? Does he respect what you are saying or does he have to be heard even more?

This is an important value as it can build trust between the future employee and your colleagues and customers. It develops many values between two people. Another is heard and understood is when there is connection.

These values are so important. In fact when they satisfy feelings are positive. When they are not satisfied feelings are negative. It takes your judgment to find out whether these values are satisfactory to your company.
