Tips For a Contractor's License Practice Test
If you are going to take a contractor license practice test, we suggest that you follow our tips. First of all, it's important to keep in mind that the exam consists of MCQs and True/False questions. However, no easy or fill-in forums are included.
Answer all the questions
If possible, you may want to answer each question on the test. If you choose to leave a question unanswered, you will miss the point for that one. Each multiple-choice question has 4 possible answers.
Identify wrong answers
In most of the questions, 2 options are clearly wrong. So, you may want to identify those options so that you can increase your chances of choosing the right one from the remaining two. This will make it easier for you to handle the MCQs part.
Follow your gut
If you were unable to eliminate at least two clearly wrong options, what would you do? In this case, your best bet is to follow your gut and choose an option that seems the right one to you. Once you have made up your mind, you should never change your mind after. It may seem tempting to choose another option, but don't do that.
Guess wisely
If you have absolutely no idea as to which one is correct, you may want to go ahead and choose the longest one. Actually, longer answers are more likely to be the correct ones because they need more explanation. So, in most cases, it is safe to choose one with the highest number of words.
Choose severe penalties
In a state exam, you won't be asked about what you may have to do or what you may get away with. In the same way, if you get a question about penalties, know that penalties won't be mild. So, it's a good idea to go for an option with the most severe penalty.
Avoid assumptions
Often, it is assumed that the correct answer may be in the middle. In other words, the correct is one is wither "B" or "C". It may have been true before the era of computers when test papers were set manually. But it doesn't work nowadays. So, it's not a good to assume that the correct answer is either "B" or "C".
Reach every question
No matter how confident you are, don't choose an answer too quickly. This is because even a single word can mean the difference between the right answer and the wrong one. So, it's better to read every question over and over again.
Math Questions
It's a good idea to do the math and estimate question at the end. This will make it easier for to do these sums as your mind won't be distracted by other questions.
Difficult questions
It's a good idea to answer hard question at the end. After all, you won't get more than one point for a difficult question, as the score for all of them is equal. Therefore, it's not wise to spend too much time on something that you find really difficult or confusing. You can save these questions for the last few minutes.
