Adab Seeks Knowledge

Science comes from the Arabic language alima, ya'lamu, ilman with wazan fa'ala yufa'ilu which means to understand, to understand really. in dictionaries Indonesian sciences, namely the knowledge of a field that is systematically arranged according to certain methods that can be used to explain certain symptoms.
The law of seeking knowledge is fardlu for every Muslim, both male and female.

Science is a means to carry out the commandments and know the prohibitions of Allah, A person who studies should decorate himself with noble adab and morals because adab is a coupling of knowledge such as hadith

"science without manners like fire without firewood, and manners without knowledge like a body without ruh"

"by manners you will understand science"

" learn adab before studying a science"
Then it is very important to learn adab before studying, here are some adabs looking for knowledge including:
Intention because of God
The first thing to prepare before studying is to justify intention. Intend all knowledge learned only because of God. In the word of Allah in Al Bayyinah verse 5,

"They are not commanded except to worship Allah by purifying their obedience to Him in a straight religion, and that they may establish the shalat and
pay the zakat. and that is the straight religion"
Always pray In demanding knowledge we always pray
to be given ease in absorbing knowledge and practicing it.
Allah Azza wa Jalla said:

and say :"O my Rabb, add to me science"
As for the prayers commonly offered by the Apostle in studying is

O Allah, benefit from what You teach me, teach me things that are beneficial to me, and add me knowledge [HR. at Tirmidzi and Ibn Mjah, dishahihkan al-Albni]
Always mean it
When studying we should be earnest and always enthusiastic to get useful knowledge. As if we are never full of the knowledge gained, we should always want to increase our knowledge.
The Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam barsabda, " Two greedy people who are never full: namely (1) one who is greedy for knowledge and never full of it and (2) one who is greedy for the world and never full of it." (HR. Al-Baihaqi)
Stay away from maksiat
To get useful knowledge and blessings, then keep yourself away from various kinds of maxiate. Maxiat will make it difficult for the brain to concentrate so that science is very difficult to understand.

- - ( From
Abu Hurairah, from the Messenger of Allaah sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, he said, "A servant when he makes a mistake, then puts in his heart a black spot. When he left her and asked for mercy and repentance, his heart was cleansed. When he returns (committing maksiat), then the black dot is added to cover his heart. That is what is termed "ar raan" which Allah mentions in His word (which means), 'Once upon a time not (so), in fact what they have always sought to cover their hearts'."

Always humble

There are so many knowledgeable people who actually become arrogant just because they feel better than others. If you want to get good and useful knowledge, then still be a humble person.
Pay attention to explanations

If you want to get knowledge easily, then concentrate when the teacher or ustadz explains. Focus on absorbing the knowledge conveyed. As Allah Ta'ala said,
"Therefore convey the glad tidings to My servants, (i.e.) those who listen to the words and follow what is best among them. They are the ones who are instructed by God and they are the ones who have common sense." (QS. Az-Zumar: 17-18)

Silent listening

One of the adabs in studying that many leave behind is silence when the teacher or ustadz explains. Do not talk or even chat about completely unimportant things that are not even related to the lessons delivered. As Allah has said in Al A'raf verse 204,

And when the Quran is recited, then listen carefully, and watch it quietly so that you will have mercy.

Memorizing

After successfully understanding the knowledge conveyed, then you should memorize the knowledge so that it is easier to remember. The Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"May Allah give light to the face of the one who hears my words, then he understands them, memorizes them, and delivers them. Many people bring fiqh to people who understand more than him" (HR. At-Tirmidzi).

Practicing

It will be useless for every knowledge gained if it is not practiced. We should have practiced the knowledge we got in order to get blessings from Allah Almighty
The Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The parable of an alim who teaches goodness to man, then he forgets himself (does not practice his knowledge) is like a lamp (candle) that illuminates man, but burns himself." (HR Ath-Thabrani)

Indicting

No knowledge is beneficial if it is not shared with others. So spread the knowledge to those who don't know it yet. Allah Ta'ala said, "O people of faith! Nourish yourselves and your families from the fires of hell whose fuel is man and stone; the guardians are rough and hard angels, who do not disobey God for what He commands them and always do what is commanded." (QS. At-Tahriim: 6).
